Can't See the Forest for the Phone Books

As I tripped over the phone books my local communications company had thoughtfully placed directly on my front doorstep, I was struck with the utter uselessness of said weighty tomes. In this day and age of Internet saturation, do we really need to kill the trees necessary to provide not one, but TWO giant books full of information that is readily available with literally a couple of button pushes on our cell phones?

Well, this is true my dear, but the whole world DOES not have access to a computer just because you and I do. And since you have to pay for information calls and internet, some folks are just lucky to be able to feed their children. Be thankful you are one that does have computer access.

Most Americans, however, DO have internet access... as of mid-November of this year an estimated 82% of Americans have cell phone subscriptions, allowing at least limited access to the internet.

Seems like a waste to kill so many trees just so 1 out of 5 people can find the number they need...
